Accompanist (Aide) Greenville High School - Fine Arts Department

Position OverviewGreenville ISD is seeking a skilled and dependable Accompanist (Aide) to support the Fine Arts program at Greenville High School. This position provides musical accompaniment and instructional support for choir and/or other performing arts programs.
Primary PurposeProvide piano accompaniment and instructional support to enhance student performance and instruction in the Fine Arts program while assisting the director with classroom and program needs.
Qualifications Education / Certification:- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to obtain a Texas Educational Aide Certificate (certification may be obtained through the District)
- Completion of the Para Skills Course through STEDI.org (course will be purchased by the District)
Skills:
- Proficient piano skills with the ability to sight-read music
- Knowledge of vocal and/or instrumental music practices preferred
- Ability to follow direction from the Fine Arts teacher/director
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with high school students
- Experience as a pianist or accompanist preferred
- Experience in a school or performance setting preferred
- Provide piano accompaniment for rehearsals, performances, and events
- Assist students during practice and performance preparation
- Support music instruction as directed by the teacher
- Assist with preparation of music materials and classroom setup
- Support classroom management and student engagement
- Assist during rehearsals, concerts, and events
- Assist with Fine Arts performances and activities
- Support logistics for concerts, contests, and events
- Participate in staff development and campus meetings as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Fine Arts director
- Frequent sitting (piano performance) and standing during rehearsals
- Evening or after-school events may be required
- Ability to maintain focus and professionalism during performances
- Support a strong Fine Arts program
- Work with talented students and directors
- Play a key role in student performances and success
