Responsibilities
  • Support assigned students and guide them through the college planning process, including application submission, scholarships, and financial aid, while ensuring each student and family remains well informed.
  • Create personalized and persuasive letters of recommendation for each senior, along with accompanying school reports, as well as letters for juniors and sophomores applying to summer programs and scholarships.
  • Present college-related information during evening programs, class meetings, and other events for students and families.
  • Lead small- and large-group guidance sessions for students in grades 9–12 focused on college readiness and planning.
  • Deliver knowledgeable guidance and positive, timely communication to students and families through email, phone calls, video meetings, and in-person conferences.
  • Attend local, state, regional, national, and international professional conferences, workshops, counselor programs, and college campus visit opportunities to remain current on admission trends and best practices.
  • Assist with the coordination of informational meetings and presentations, including evening programs, financial aid and scholarship presentations, college admission speaker events, college essay workshops, and application workshops.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with college and university admission offices.
