The Teacher provides high-quality instruction that supports students' academic growth, critical thinking, and engagement in learning. At CISD, this role ensures students receive rigorous, standards-aligned instruction and meaningful learning experiences that prepare them for future academic and career opportunities. Teachers build positive classroom environments, monitor student progress, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure every student receives the support needed to succeed.

The Teacher develops lesson plans aligned with state standards and district curriculum. They deliver engaging instruction that promotes critical thinking and student participation. They monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments. They establish a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment. They collaborate with colleagues in professional learning communities. They participate in professional development and school initiatives. They communicate effectively with parents and guardians.

The Teacher holds a Bachelor's degree in education or a related field from an accredited institution and a valid Texas teaching certification required in the appropriate content or grade level area. They have strong knowledge of instructional best practices, curriculum standards, and classroom management strategies. They are able to work effectively with diverse students, families, staff, and community partners. They have strong instructional, communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

They use student data and instructional technology tools to monitor progress and improve student learning. They are committed to student growth, academic success, and equitable access to high-quality instruction. Bilingual skills are preferred.
