PrimaryPurpose:
Provide instructional assistance to students in the STEAM classroom. This will include preparing, conducting, and managing classroom instruction.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school or GED
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
- Ability to assist in instructing physical education
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to communicate effectively
Experience:
- Experience working with children, preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties :
Instructional Support- Provide instruction to students, work with individual students.
- Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
- Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
- Inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
- Keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
- Prepare lessons for substitute teachers.
- Prepare and plan enriching and engaging lessons.
- Supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
- Make teachers aware of special needs or problems of individual students.
- Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
- Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Assist with participation in community activities.
