* SUMMARY:

** The Department of Counseling at East Texas A&M University, a student-ready, Doctoral University classified as R2:
High Research Activity by the Carnegie Classification—invites applications for a 9-month, full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Practice (Professional Track Faculty) starting Fall 2027. The successful candidate will serve as the Practicum & Internship Coordinator for the CACREP-accredited programs, with a commensurate instructional workload in recognition of this responsibility.

The chosen candidate will contribute to the department's teaching and service missions. Specifically, we seek a colleague with a demonstrated record of effective teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels; a commitment to meaningful service to the department, college, university, and profession; and an expertise in play therapy or clinical supervision as evidenced by the applicant’s teaching and service contributions. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate professional identity in counseling/counselor education through the following activities: (a) sustained memberships in professional counseling organizations (e.g., ACA, ACES, APT, CSI, TAAP, TCA, etc.);

(b) relevant professional counseling credentials (e.g., licensed professional counselor, licensed professional counselor-supervisor, licensed chemical dependency counselor, Registered Play Therapist TM, Registered Play Therapist-SupervisorTM, etc.); and (c) sustained professional engagement in professional development and renewal activities, professional service and advocacy in counseling, ongoing counseling…
