Junior High Paraprofessional

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at Childress Junior High School as a Paraprofessional. This full-time position is designed for someone who is passionate about supporting students' educational and emotional needs. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to facilitate a positive learning environment, assist with classroom management, and provide individualized support to students, particularly those with special needs.

• - Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
• - Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them understand and engage with the curriculum.
• - Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
• - Support students with special needs, including those with learning disabilities, emotional disturbances, and physical challenges.
• - Help maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• - Assist with the preparation of instructional materials and classroom resources.
• - Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
• - Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster a supportive educational community.
• - Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration.

• - High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred.
• - Previous experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting, is highly desirable.
• - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
• - Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
• - Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow directions from teachers and administrators.
• - Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
• - Knowledge of special education practices and laws is a plus.
• - Must pass background checks as required by school district policies.
• - Ability to lift and assist students as needed, including those with physical disabilities.
