Stress Engineering Consultant

OW Lee is a premier manufacturer of luxury outdoor furniture and fire pits. We are seeking an experienced mechanical / stress engineering consultant for project-based, as-needed support on our outdoor metal furniture products.

This is a part‑time, contract‑based role. This opportunity is ideal for a retired or semi‑retired engineer, or an independent consultant, who enjoys staying engaged professionally without the commitment of regular hours.

There are no guaranteed hours
, and work will be assigned on a per-project basis.

The consultant will provide guidance and analysis to our internal team, including:

• Identifying potential failure modes
• Performing or reviewing finite element–based stress, strain, and fatigue life analyses
• Advising on structural integrity under various loading conditions
• Supporting material selection (steel and aluminum alloys, temper selection) for manufacturability and durability

Our products consist of outdoor patio furniture fabricated from steel and aluminum alloys
, produced in our in‑house manufacturing facility in Comfort, Texas
.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Significant experience in metal design and stress analysis
• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes
• Working knowledge of CAD software (FEA experience a plus)
• Comfortable working independently and providing consultative recommendations

Texas Hill Country preferred. Remote work acceptable, with occasional on‑site support as needed.
