Maverick Wing Generating Facility, located in Eden, TX, is seeking an Operations Site Supervisor. The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct oversight at a wind generating facility. The Site Supervisor is responsible for the overall operations of the Balance of Plant (BOP) and wind turbine equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient performance.
Job Responsibilities- Understand and administer long-term O&M contracts, ensuring contractual requirements are met on a daily basis.
- Assist plant owners with long-term operational and maintenance issues as they arise.
- Liaise with facility landowners to address and resolve daily operational issues, when applicable.
- Liaise with government Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) officials to ensure compliance and support site safety standards.
- Audit contractor work quality and safety procedures on a regular basis.
- Administer the analysis and compilation of oil samples in accordance with equipment manuals, Site Manager, and Head Office requirements.
- Work with the Operations Manager to establish and maintain thorough inventories of spare parts and materials necessary for plant maintenance.
- Operate the facility in accordance with standard industry practices and regulatory requirements, including local and remote operations of equipment ranging from 345kV to 24V.
- Plan and schedule equipment maintenance activities to maintain facilities in good working order and maximize equipment availability.
- Plan and schedule maintenance activities to minimize downtime and revenue impact.
- Maintain access roads and perform snow removal as needed to ensure uninterrupted site access and O&M contract compliance.
- Expedite timely repairs of wind turbines, high/medium voltage equipment, meteorological towers, communication systems, substations, and other site assets.
- Coordinate and lead teams of employees and contractors to complete scheduled and unscheduled site work, including turbine and facility-based activities.
- Proven hands-on experience in testing, analyzing, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with SCADA systems for monitoring and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative abilities for interpreting data and generating actionable insights.
- Excellent organizational skills, self-motivation, and consistency in meeting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data effectively to make sound professional judgments and provide informed recommendations.
- 1-3 years’ experience working on maintaining a wind facility
- 1-3 years’ site planning experience including managing vendors, maintenance schedules, etc.
- Ability to travel, on occasion, within North America
- Experience in industrial plant operations and maintenance.
- Background as an electrician or electrical technician, including relevant training and/or experience.
- High School education or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
- Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments throughout the year.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Regular work at heights exceeding 400 feet.
- Considerable physical effort may be required during maintenance, repair, and equipment modification activities.
- Strong eye-hand coordination required to safely operate and repair equipment.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
