RWE Americas, LLC is a leading renewable energy company focused on sustainable power generation. As a member of the Blade Repair Services (BRS) team, you will support inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance of our North American turbine fleet.
Responsibilities- Adhere to ONE RWE values and behaviors.
- Ensure all O&M activities are performed safely, following company policies and procedures.
- Climb wind towers and access turbines to perform composite repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Lift, carry, and transport equipment, tools, and materials to job sites.
- Assist with transportation, setup, and operation of the up-tower blade access mechanism.
- Support team in performing platform and ground access composite repairs on turbines from GE, Siemens, Vestas, Nordex, and others.
- Assist in mobilizing repair equipment to sites.
- Assist in major component replacements, primarily blades.
- Ensure proper storage, maintenance, and handling of Blade Repair Service equipment.
- Perform safety and wind farm tasks when assigned and act as backup to personnel at other RWE sites.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Willing and able to obtain/maintain an RWE-sponsored Commercial Driver License (CDL) if requested.
- GWO Certification preferred.
- Experience in power sector project development or related areas (e.g., market analysis, transmission & interconnection, PPA marketing, electrical engineering, environmental analysis, M&A) is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in blade damage assessment and repair.
- Experience with multiple manufacturers (Siemens, GE, Vestas, Nordex).
- Experience with LEP systems.
- Previous Blade Access Platform and rigging experience preferred.
- Organized, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem‑solving, interpersonal, attention‑to‑detail, and work‑ethic skills.
- Understanding of wind turbine blade construction, inspection, and repair, including LPS systems.
- Knowledge of fiberglass types.
- Understanding of composite materials (epoxy resins, polyurethane fillers and paint, core materials, mix ratios).
- Accurate completion of QA/QC documentation.
- Ability to read and understand Engineering Work Instructions.
- Must pass physical fitness tests required for Global Wind Organization Certification; additional tests may be required at the discretion of the business.
