Vestas – Wind Site Technician II, Garden City, TX (Bearkat site)

Schedule:

Monday through Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; occasional Saturdays; overtime possible.

Ensure the smooth operation of wind turbines by performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and addressing system issues in a team environment.

• Maintain and repair wind turbines to keep communities powered.
• Adhere to safety protocols and perform safety inspections.
• Collaborate with the team to improve turbine performance and share best practices.
• Document work and continuously improve operational processes.
• Accurately time‑code all work activities to support tracking of task duration and operational efficiency.

• At least 6 months with a Wind Technician certificate, or 1 year of wind turbine experience, or 2 years in mechanical or electrical fields.
• Highly developed problem‑solving abilities and an engaged approach to responsibilities.
• Safety‑conscious and committed to best practices.
• Ability to work well with others and enjoy collaborative environments.
• Physically fit, comfortable working in various conditions, and at heights.
• Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
• High school diploma (or equivalent); valid driver’s license; legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for current or future sponsorship.

Competitive pay determined by experience and qualifications, with performance bonuses. One‑time sign‑on bonus of $2,500 USD / $3,300 CAD (subject to taxes and eligibility).

• Stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
• Hearing and visual acuity for phone and radio use.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed; hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Climb stairs & vertical ladders to heights of 60–100 meters; supervise confined space work occasionally.
• Lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying items up to 50 lbs.
• Complete required safety training programs, including LOTO, Electrical Qualification, Fall Arrest, High Angle Rescue & Emergency Descent, Confined Space.
• Maintain combined weight of employee, PPE, and gear not exceeding 300 lbs.
