Vestas – Wind Site Technician II, Garden City, TX (Bearkat site)
Schedule:
Monday through Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; occasional Saturdays; overtime possible.
Ensure the smooth operation of wind turbines by performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and addressing system issues in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair wind turbines to keep communities powered.
- Adhere to safety protocols and perform safety inspections.
- Collaborate with the team to improve turbine performance and share best practices.
- Document work and continuously improve operational processes.
- Accurately time‑code all work activities to support tracking of task duration and operational efficiency.
- At least 6 months with a Wind Technician certificate, or 1 year of wind turbine experience, or 2 years in mechanical or electrical fields.
- Highly developed problem‑solving abilities and an engaged approach to responsibilities.
- Safety‑conscious and committed to best practices.
- Ability to work well with others and enjoy collaborative environments.
- Physically fit, comfortable working in various conditions, and at heights.
- Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
- High school diploma (or equivalent); valid driver’s license; legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for current or future sponsorship.
Comprehensive training programs and certifications such as GWO Safety & Technical Training are provided. All required PPE and equipment are supplied.

Competitive pay determined by experience and qualifications, with performance bonuses. One‑time sign‑on bonus of $2,500 USD / $3,300 CAD (subject to taxes and eligibility).
Physical Demands- Stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Hearing and visual acuity for phone and radio use.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed; hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Climb stairs & vertical ladders to heights of 60–100 meters; supervise confined space work occasionally.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying items up to 50 lbs.
- Complete required safety training programs, including LOTO, Electrical Qualification, Fall Arrest, High Angle Rescue & Emergency Descent, Confined Space.
- Maintain combined weight of employee, PPE, and gear not exceeding 300 lbs.
