Position Summary
The Foreman is responsible for supporting daily project execution in the field under the direction of the Operations Manager. This role provides hands‑on leadership to field crews, ensures work is completed safely and efficiently, and serves as a key point of accountability for compliance, quality, and crew coordination on active job sites.
Key Responsibilities
Field Execution & Crew Leadership
- Crew Direction:
Assign daily tasks and direct field crew members to ensure safe, efficient, and quality-driven project execution. - On‑Site Presence:
Maintain a consistent, active presence on the job site to monitor progress, address issues, and keep work on schedule. - Problem Resolution:
Identify and resolve day‑to‑day field challenges quickly, escalating to the Operations Manager when needed. - Mentorship:
Support and guide junior crew members, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Compliance & Safety
- Safety Enforcement:
Enforce all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and site‑specific rules on a daily basis. - Compliance Monitoring:
Ensure crew activities remain in full compliance with applicable safety regulations, company policies, and reporting requirements. - Incident Reporting:
Document and report any safety incidents, near‑misses, or compliance concerns to the Operations Manager promptly. - Site Inspections:
Conduct routine site walkthroughs to identify hazards, correct unsafe behaviors, and maintain a compliant work environment. - Regulatory Awareness:
Stay current on relevant OSHA standards and applicable compliance requirements for active project types.
Coordination & Communication
- Daily Reporting:
Provide end‑of‑day progress updates to the Operations Manager, including work completed, issues encountered, and crew performance. - Scheduling Support:
Assist the Operations Manager with coordinating crew schedules, task sequencing, and resource allocation. - Equipment & Fleet:
Identify equipment or vehicle maintenance needs and communicate them to the Operations Manager for timely resolution.
Documentation
- Field Records:
Maintain accurate daily field logs, timesheets, and job site documentation. - Compliance Records:
Ensure all required compliance documentation (safety checklists, inspection logs, incident reports) is completed accurately and on time.
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
Minimum of 2‑4 years in field operations, Hydrovac, Hydrotest, construction, or project‑based work, with at least 1 year in a lead or crew‑lead role. - Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. - Certifications:
Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record required. OSHA 10‑Hour certification required; OSHA 30‑Hour preferred. - Availability:
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, or weekends, based on active project schedules.
Technical & Operational
- Safety Compliance:
Working knowledge of OSHA standards and the ability to enforce safety protocols consistently in the field. - Field Documentation:
Ability to complete daily logs, compliance checklists, and incident reports accurately using digital or paper‑based tools. - Resource Awareness:
Ability to coordinate crew assignments and flag equipment or material needs to the Operations Manager.
Leadership & Interpersonal
- Crew Leadership:
Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to direct, motivate, and hold crew members accountable. - Clear Communication:
Ability to communicate job expectations, safety requirements, and daily priorities clearly to field crews. - Dependability:
Consistent follow‑through on assigned responsibilities with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
