Airswift is looking for a HRSG / Boiler Superintendent to support one of our clients in Gregory, TX. This person will be responsible to lead the construction, installation, commissioning, and startup of large-scale boiler and Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) systems on a major power generation project. The successful candidate will oversee field execution from construction through turnover, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within quality standards, and ready for successful startup.
This role is ideal for an individual with extensive experience managing large industrial boiler systems in power generation, petrochemical, refining, pulp & paper, LNG, or other heavy industrial environments. Combined-cycle power plant experience is highly preferred but not required.
- Lead all field activities related to HRSG, boiler, pressure-part, structural, and associated mechanical systems installation.
- Oversee construction execution from equipment receipt through mechanical completion, commissioning, startup, and turnover.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, and safety standards.
- Coordinate installation activities, hydrotesting, flushing, punch-list resolution, and system handover.
- Review drawings, schedules, work packages, and construction plans to support efficient execution.
- Identify and resolve field issues impacting safety, quality, or schedule.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, QA/QC, commissioning, vendors, and construction teams.
- Support commissioning and startup efforts, ensuring systems are fully prepared for operational readiness.
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree or trade certification preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in large-scale boiler, HRSG, or heavy industrial construction.
- Proven experience supporting projects from construction through commissioning and startup.
- Strong knowledge of boiler systems, pressure parts, piping systems, hydrotesting, welding, NDE, and mechanical completion processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Strong leadership, planning, and contractor management skills.
- Combined-cycle power plant experience.
- Experience working on EPC-led projects.
- Background in power generation, petrochemical, refinery, LNG, or other heavy industrial facilities.
- Previous commissioning and startup experience.
- OSHA 30 certification.
