Scope of Position

From developing and building scalable wind (onshore and offshore), solar, storage (battery and pumped storage hydro), smart EV charging, microgrids, green hydrogen, and transmission projects, to maximizing performance and profitability through skilled operations and maintenance and innovative asset optimization, our teams deliver expert solutions along the entire value chain—from origination to commercial operation.

We are seeking dedicated and talented individuals for roles ranging from entry‑level Technician 1 to expert Technician 4 to perform maintenance, repair, and operational activities on utility‑scale renewable energy assets, including wind turbines, photovoltaic (PV) power systems, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Candidates will be placed at the level commensurate with their experience, qualifications, and successful completion of internal competency standards.

This position is onsite in Vega, Texas. Each Renewable Energy Technician will attend a mandatory 3–4‑week training and certification course at the start of employment in Albert Lea, MN. Travel, accommodation, and expenses will be provided. Salary range: $22.69 to $47.74 per hour; starting pay estimate: $27.00 to $37.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

The level of autonomy, technical complexity, and leadership responsibility distinctly separates the four technician roles.

Technician 1 (Entry‑Level)

  • Assists experienced technicians with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Focuses on learning and applying safety protocols.
  • Works under specific direction and direct supervision.

Technician 2 (Experienced)

  • Performs preventive maintenance independently and conducts routine troubleshooting, repairs, and minor upgrades.
  • Responsible for independent preventive maintenance.
  • Participates in the 24‑hour “On Call” rotation.

Technician 3 (Senior)

  • Performs unsupervised routine and corrective maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and leads teams on routine tasks.
  • Unsupervised execution of all corrective/preventive maintenance and may train and oversee Techs 1 & 2.

Technician 4 (Expert/Lead)

  • Performs unsupervised advanced corrective and preventive maintenance and leads major repairs.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert (SME).
  • Trains and signs off on competency of Techs 1‑3; assists with overseeing site crews/contractors in manager absence.

All technicians share a commitment to safety, operational excellence, and asset integrity:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including LOTO procedures, and lead site safety assessments.
  • Maintain company property and equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Accurately complete all administrative work, including daily maintenance logs, work orders, time tracking, and warranty/inventory documentation.
  • Attend all required safety and technical training.
  • Maintain the highest level of system integrity and support site budget control by seeking efficiencies.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation for system monitoring and fault identification (Tech 2‑5).

Fiscal responsibilities:
All levels must be fiscally responsible on the company's behalf.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 0–1 year renewable energy or equivalent field (Tech
    1).
  • 1–2 years renewable energy or similar discipline (Tech
    2).2+ years renewable energy experience (Tech
    3).
  • 2–4 years renewable energy experience (Tech
    4).

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent for all levels.
