Location: Windthorst
- Execute contractual obligations according to customer requirements and daily site activities
- Maintain, repair, or replace parts to correct malfunctions in electrical and mechanical wind turbine equipment
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines
- Assist in all areas of site operations as directed by the manager with minimal supervision
- Perform diagnostic electrical analysis
- Document all work using computer-based service reporting procedures
- Work with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary
- Work at all wind sites within Texas Hub 6 and report to any assigned site
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Wind Technician or Wind Mechanic, OR minimum of 2 years of work experience inclusive of hydraulic and electrical experience, experience using basic power hydraulic tools, passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment, and basic computer skills
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Ability and willingness to lift repetitive weight of up to 45 lbs. unassisted
- Ability and willingness to climb towers of 300+ feet regularly
- Meet specified manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300 lbs. including required gear
- Understand electrical schematic drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations
- Ability and willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry facilities
- Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules and be on-call per site needs
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field from an accredited college or university (desired)
- Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical / Electronic field (desired)
- Wind turbine experience (desired)
- Electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience (desired)
- Experience using hydraulic power tools (desired)
- Experience with heavy equipment required for facility maintenance and working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements (desired)
Demonstrates expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining wind turbine equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. Proficient in executing site operations and adhering to safety and regulatory standards in the wind energy industry.
