Entergy’s Power Generation group operates a fleet of more than 30 owned, leased, or operated natural gas, coal, oil hydro and petroleum coke plants, with total engineering capacity of over 18,500 megawatts and is building or acquiring more than 3,000 megawatts of new natural gas generation to join its 30,000 megawatts of nuclear, natural gas, coal, oil, hydroelectric and solar facilities.

JOB SUMMARY/

PURPOSE:

Directs and supervises a team of operations/maintenance personnel in a cross-functional multi-craft, multi-skilled plant environment at a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant. The position's primary responsibility is assign and direct maintenance personnel of day to day plant activities as well as respond to plant upsets or needs to maintain safe and reliable operation.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures Safe work practices that comply with all OSHA and Entergy Safety Processes.
• Provides Compliance oversight relating to NERC and Environmental requirements.
• Provides direct supervision to hourly multi-craft employees during a normal work week which may include weekends and or extended work schedule during planned, maintenance or forced outages.
• Ensures all required maintenance is performed according to assigned schedule.
• Closely works with Planner/Scheduler to ensure accurate job planning, schedule compliance, and unit reliability while seeking out efficiency opportunities.
• May be required to fill in for direct Supervisor in his/her absence.
• Provides and supports budget/project development and cost control for routine and outage work.
• Provides contract management/contractor oversight.
• Must be willing to become control room operator proficient and willing to cover rotating shift if needed based on plant and staffing needs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required of the position

• High school diploma or GED

Minimum experience required of the position

• 8+ years Plant Operations Or Maintenance Experience
• 2 year college degree with 8+ years of Operations/Maintenance Experience
• Experience with Combined Cycle Power Plant
• Ability to operate and maintain fossil fuel power generation facility.
• Experience in I&C, Electrical, and Mechanical fields.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

• Should possess excellent oral, written and computer skills. Ability to build strong team through leadership and interpersonal skills is a must
• Ability to build strong team through leadership and interpersonal skills is a must.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge and experience with CMMS.
• Ability to implement production technician progression training plan.
