About the Role
Seeking an experienced professional to oversee transmission interconnection activities, including power flow and facility studies for integrating new loads and generators. This role involves negotiating interconnection agreements, maintaining facility schedules, and representing the organization in regulatory and industry discussions.
Responsibilities- Manage transmission interconnections with other facility owners.
- Conduct and coordinate power flow studies for interconnecting loads, generators, and transmission assets.
- Prepare comprehensive interconnection study reports, including power flow and stability analyses.
- Maintain facility schedules and ensure alignment with system updates.
- Develop capital budgets for necessary transmission improvements.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies for construction approvals.
- Work cross-functionally with planning, engineering, and project teams to implement interconnection projects.
- Represent the organization in industry meetings and regulatory discussions.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to transmission interconnections.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and maintain accurate documentation.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems.
Experience: 10+ years in engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
Certifications: Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas or eligibility for transfer.
Required Skills- Deep knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards, ERCOT protocols, and interconnection regulations.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, including proficiency with PSS/E software.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate technical findings effectively.
- Understanding of generation, transmission, and substation technologies.
Some travel may be required. Role may occasionally require work beyond standard hours.
