Title: Quality Engineer - Injection Molding Manufacturing
Reports to: Quality Manager / Plant Manager

Job Summary

The Quality Engineer is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving the Quality Management System (QMS) for injection molding operations. This role ensures compliance with major enterprise customer requirements and drives corrective actions while building robust quality systems including CAPA, Change Management, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Traceability.

This position plays a critical role in supporting factory audits and developing scalable manufacturing quality processes.

Key Responsibilities (R&R)

Quality System Ownership

  • Establish and maintain QMS aligned with ISO
    9001 principles and enterprise customer audit expectations
  • Lead CAPA / 8D activities including root cause analysis and effectiveness validation
  • Own Change Management process (SREA / ECN) for material, mold, and process changes
  • Maintain PFMEA, Control Plans, Inspection Plans, and quality documentation
  • Manage Training Matrix and quality records retention

Audit & Customer Interface

  • Act as primary quality contact for major retail and logistics customers during audits
  • Prepare factory audit documentation and lead onsite audit activities
  • Manage customer complaints and corrective action responses
  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI), CpK, MSA, and NPI qualification documentation

Traceability & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with material regulatory requirements (COC, SDS, RoHS/REACH if applicable)
  • Control non-conforming materials and ensure proper segregation
  • Analyze quality data, scrap trends, and process variation
  • Drive continuous improvement projects across production lines
  • Collaborate with PE and Production teams to reduce defects and stabilize processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3-7 years Quality Engineering experience in injection molding or plastics manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plan, CAPA, SPC, MSA
  • Familiar with MES systems and traceability implementation
  • Hands-on, factory-floor oriented mindset
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
