Technical Writer - Gas Turbine Power Generation
Houston, TX | Onsite
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer with a background in gas turbine power plant operations to develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation supporting industrial power generation equipment and facilities.
This role is ideal for a technically proficient writer who can translate complex operational and engineering information into clear, structured documentation.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and edit technical manuals, procedures, reports, proposals, and instructional materials
- Document installation, operation, and maintenance processes for industrial power plant equipment
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to gather technical information
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, parts lists, and technical specifications
- Organize content to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with documentation standards
- Review and update existing materials for accuracy and improvements
- Maintain documentation records and revision history
- Select and integrate diagrams, charts, photos, and illustrations
- Support documentation needs for new power plant facilities
- Occasional light travel as needed
- Experience in gas turbine power plant operations
- Proven technical writing experience in an industrial or power generation environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe software
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and engineering documentation
- U.S. work authorization required
- Ability to pass background and pre-employment screening
- LM6000 or LM2500 turbine operational experience
- Experience working in industrial power generation or heavy equipment environments
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and work in both office and warehouse environments
- Ability to lift or move materials up to 50 lbs
- Strong visual acuity for reviewing detailed technical documents
