Job Description

An Autonomy Test Specialist to support Motion Planning engineers by accelerating development, testing, and validation workflows. In this role, you’ll own simulation scenario creation, coordinate vehicle testing, and serve as the first line of triage for test results. You’ll gain hands‑on exposure to simulation infrastructure, on-vehicle testing, and the real‑world challenges of deploying autonomous vehicles. The ideal candidate is organized, technically curious, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced autonomy environment.

Requirements
  • Create and configure simulation scenarios for pick‑up/drop‑off (PUDO) and depot site use cases, translating operational requirements into testable configurations.
  • Develop and maintain vehicle test plans, supporting both on‑site and off‑site testing for new site enablement features.
  • Manage test scheduling and coordination, partnering with vehicle operations to maximize testing efficiency.
  • Perform first‑pass triage of simulation and vehicle test results, identifying issues and categorizing findings for engineering review.
  • Document test results, generate clear reports, and identify opportunities to streamline testing workflows and improve visibility for autonomy engineers.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). Ability and willingness to travel for test support. Familiarity with scripting languages (Python preferred) for automation and data analysis. Strong organizational skills with experience managing schedules or coordinating technical workflows. Ability to learn new tools and systems quickly. Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating with engineers.

Tasks

The Motion Planning team is scaling our Pick‑Up/Drop‑Off (PUDO) and Depot Site enablement capabilities and expanding to new operational domains. In this contract role, you'll work alongside our Motion Planning engineers to accelerate our development, testing, and validation workflows. You'll own the creation of simulation scenarios, manage vehicle testing, and serve as the first line of triage for test results. This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to autonomous vehicle development while building your robotics expertise on the job.

You'll gain hands‑on exposure to our simulation infrastructure, on‑vehicle testing processes, and the real‑world challenges of deploying autonomous vehicles. Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience with simulation environments or game engines.
  • Exposure to robotics, automotive, or autonomous systems.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and issue tracking systems (JIRA or similar).
  • Experience with test engineering, QA, or validation processes.
  • Understanding of basic vehicle dynamics or motion planning concepts.
