Location: Castroville

RESPEC seeks an Assistant Project Manager in our Land Development sector, located in San Antonio or Castroville, TX. The Assistant Project Manager position is intended for a broad land development and public works professional, with experience across site civil design, permitting, and project delivery.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas, or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant land development engineering experience in the following areas:
    • Private‑sector commercial, residential, and mixed‑use land development
    • Preparing engineering reports, civil construction plans, and permitting submittals
    • Helping in coordinating small to mid‑sized design teams and managing client interactions
    • Providing land development engineering services in Texas
    • Supporting proposal preparation and fee development
    • A minimum of 1 year of project management experience
    • Proficiency with relevant software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and common hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools
    • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business‑related travel
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Central Texas market experience, particularly the San Antonio and Austin regions
    • Familiarity with local and state permitting agencies and development regulations
    • Experience delivering private site development and public works projects, including street, drainage, and utility design, as stand‑alone assignments or as part of multidisciplinary project teams
    • Strong stormwater and hydrologic/hydraulic expertise is preferred to support cross‑discipline projects, but the role is not limited to stormwater‑only practice
