Health and Safety Advisor for heavylift and transport projects

The Safety Advisor plays a critical role in supporting our commitment to maintaining the highest SHE-Q (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) standards across all operations. This position partners closely with operational teams to ensure compliance, promote a proactive safety culture, and mitigate risk in complex heavy-lifting and transport projects.
The Safety Advisor provides hands‑on field support and technical guidance to project teams, ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. This role is responsible for conducting site inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits while coaching supervisors and crew members on best practices and safe work execution.
As a trusted advisor, this individual works collaboratively with operations management, project teams, and clients to continuously improve safety performance and reinforce Mammoet’s zero‑harm culture. The Safety Advisor must be comfortable working in dynamic, high‑risk environments and demonstrate strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to influence safe behaviors at all levels of the organization.
Travel Requirement: 70%
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING- Maintaining industry‑leading SHE-Q standards across all projects
- Liaising effectively with a range of different people and role types
- Ensuring all employees and contractors comply with Mammoet and customer safety requirements
- Assessing the safety of jobsite and workplace activities
- Conducting and overseeing safety inspections and training
- Expert level experience in SHE-Q regulations. Professional level experience in SHE-Q systems, HLT equipment and MS Office suite.
- English, fluent proficient verbal and written
- Vocational education in technical discipline
- Evidence of experience in a similar role, ideally in any/some of the following sectors: civil engineering, construction, renewables, oil and gas, offshore, ports and mining
- 8 years of relevant work experience
- Associate degree in Health, Safety & Environment discipline
