Position Overview
The Employment Analyst will support HQ Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) in providing System Engineering Support (SES) services for ICBM and helicopter operations.
Essential Job Function- Review and assess accuracy, reliability and survivability data and apply engineering judgement to transform technical data into a format applicable to the development of weapon system inputs to support AFGSC's annual Planning Factors report to USSTRATCOM
- Perform data processing and flight test analysis as necessary to support flight test failure analysis, launch anomaly investigations and possible recovery efforts and review flight investigation/anomaly report
- Regularly review and assess data available from multiple sources, and discuss recommendations and required actions to maintain performance fidelity of the deployed force, including: accuracy, reliability, availability, survivability, maintainability, and safety with AFGSC action officer
- Review and assess system engineering estimates of system accuracy at system, subsystem, and component levels over entire range of flight test and operational missions
- Review and assess the annual Minuteman Operational Accuracy Reports (MOARs)
- Review and assess Special Studies and Analysis to characterize the effect of component errors on system accuracy
- Review and assess derived weapon system ensemble accuracy parameters (biases and dispersions) and confidence limits at system, subsystem and component levels
- Review flight test database following each flight, including flight parameters and accuracy
- Review weapon system configuration data, provide technical advice, programmatic guidance and management analysis of ICBM LEPs, LRP efforts and test results
- Provide assessment of modernization impacts, Aging & Surveillance tests, weapon system failures, parts deletion, anomalies and OTL performance on ICBM operational force reliability
- Assist in analysis and understanding of missile systems and the associated parameters required to operate and assess their performance
- Assist in meeting the flight test requirements and monitoring the results of ICBM tests
- Analyze test flights to include arming and fuzing
- Monitor the progress of the ICBM Fuze Program and provide advice on the feasibility of the proposed technical solutions based on the scientific database and models
- Provide technical advice, programmatic guidance and management/analysis of ICBM Life Extension Programs and Long Range Planning
- Provide expertise in other significant war fighting issues requiring mathematical or engineering support
- Must have a Top Secret facility clearance
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree
- At least 7 years’ headquarters (MAJCOM, NAF) staff experience
- At least 10 years’ ICBM Operations experience
