The Helicopter Operations Support Specialist will support HQ Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) in providing System Engineering Support (SES) services for ICBM and helicopter operations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide helicopter expertise to the A5I-led Missile Field Battlespace Awareness Team in development of future nuclear security C4

    ISR
  • Provide expertise during development and integration of the HQ AF/A3S Nuclear Security Roadmap. Provide technical input to insure AFGSC programs are accurately represented in overall product
  • Provide Systems Engineering Support for helicopter Sustainment and modernization programs to support nuclear security roadmap
  • Perform engineering analyses and studies to assist AFGSC and 20 AF in performance management of the operational helicopter fleet in support of the security training requirements integrating the helicopter with nuclear security tactics, techniques and procedures
  • Coordinate with AFGSC/A2 and other intelligence resources to provide evaluation and support of local ICBM area threat assessments
  • Interface with tacticians participating in applicable phases of equipment acquisition to mitigate concerns as the helicopter is integrated into the security scheme of each ICBM operating location
  • Initiate requests, provide inputs, and develop flows to meet the Tactics Review Board Timetable
  • Develop MAJCOM recommendations on proposed courses of action and timetables etc. for all TIPs submitted. Ensure TIPs focus on the best way to improve helicopter support to the ICBM security mission
  • Support dissemination of MAJCOM TRB TIP disposition to subordinate operational and training units and NAF/A3s. Ensure timely flow of tactics information with other MAJCOMs
  • Provide support during interaction with organizations outside AFGSC in matters regarding ICBM security tactics and helicopter security training
  • Provide expertise in AFTTP 3-1, 3-3 and other tactics development directives. Ensure concepts of operations are published prior to the initiation of test projects
  • Coordinate scheduling of munitions, ranges, operational unit support, and waivers for Tactics Development & Evaluations projects in support of 20th AF security training needs
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree
  • Must possess a Top Secret clearance
  • Must be eligible for SCI clearance
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 7 years’ headquarters (MAJCOM, NAF) staff experience
  • At least 10 years’ of USAF Helicopter Aircrew experience
  • Previous Flight Engineer experience
  • Previous CAS and aerial gunnery experience
  • Operational and/or Developmental helicopter test experience
