This position is responsible for developing and maintaining process controls and related software and hardware systems that will support the safety productivity and profitability of GTI.
Job Duties- Maintain and support all onsite Digital Control Systems that interfaces between operational staff and process equipment.
- Support and collaborate with operational Boardman and process engineering to ensure process control systems are current and effective and sustained for operational stability.
- Develop coding, programming, and configuration of the onsite Delta
V and Control Logics process control software. - Maintain uncompromised backups and backup support of all process control software and coding to safeguard process and operations at all times.
- Be a subject matter expert to assist with process control deliverables for capital projects.
- Work closely with project engineers on process control philosophies and Management of Change (MOC) for new capital projects and interface with contracted 3rd party support functions for process programming of capital projects.
- Manage and direct 3rd party support functions for contracted process control programming.
- Identify, establish, and maintain all off-site technical support functions for controls that is required to ensure operational stability.
- Maintain awareness of latest technology in industry and motivate to upgrade as needed, to improve equipment performance, reliability, and throughput.
- Writes periodic reports or oral presentations on specific process control related issues.
- Ensures that HS&EP policies affecting process controls are followed.
- Provide required technical motivation to recommend and implement modifications to existing process control equipment.
- Participate and comply with facility and PSM change management process.
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a field supporting technology of process control and automation.
- Advanced Delta
V training at an Emerson recognized training facility. - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in process controls with Emerson Delta
V preferably in a Petrochemical environment. - Knowledge and experience in process instrumentation and process automation.
- Motivated self-starter, hands on approach, and detail oriented.
- Ability to function under stress in a high demanding environment.
- Motivated for continuous improvement of process control parameters.
- Able to successfully troubleshoot unforeseen problems related to DSC, PLC, and connectivity via networks.
- Able to successfully maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers.
- Available to assist process after hours on scheduled callout support via remote linked in networking.
- Executing Management of Change (MOC) process documentation.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Controls Systems Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Allen Bradley PLC Logix
500/5000 - OSIsoft PI experience
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve technical problems.
- Detailed oriented and demonstrate ability to methodically program and code process processors for integration and control.
