As a member of the construction projects team, you will work with elite engineers and project managers across multiple disciplines to design, build, and commission critical infrastructure for a variety of projects at Space
X’s Rocket Development Facility in McGregor, Texas, as well as other Space
X facilities. This hands‑on role is responsible for the planning and execution of new facility construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects with a specialized focus on commercial and industrial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. You will own projects from start to finish to support high‑power rocket engine testing, test stand activation, and world‑class industrial facilities that enable rapid development and iteration.
This position is based in McGregor, TX.
- Lead the project team, consulting engineers, and contractors throughout the entire mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning process
- Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial projects
- Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close‑out
- Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time
- Coordinate with the electrical utility provider on design and engineering to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructure
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and internal stakeholders
- Track and approve contractor invoicing
- Ensure contractors adhere to site safety standards and OSHA requirements
- Manage night shift and early morning contractors as project needs dictate
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management with 3+ years of experience working in the field on construction projects, or 7+ years of equivalent professional experience in construction, engineering, or facilities management in lieu of a degree
