Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: T-7 Aircraft Maintenance Technician
Location: Jbsa Randolph

DRG is looking to fill a contract position with the T-7A Red Hawk Advanced Pilot Training program at JBSA Randolph. The Program is in a critical early phase of introduction to the United States Air Force, managed in partnership with Boeing. As a stand-up program, it requires a high degree of collective effort, personal accountability, and a pioneering mindset from every team member.

This is not a traditional siloed maintenance organization with separate shops for each aircraft system. Rather, it is a fully integrated, collaborative maintenance environment in which Ground Handling, Hydraulics, Electrical, Avionics/Instrument Technicians, and Engine Maintenance personnel work together as one team to stand up and mature sustainment capabilities for this history-making airframe. This position offers a unique opportunity to help shape the foundation of USAF pilot training for the next generation on an aircraft that will serve for decades to come.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair T-7 aircraft systems, including communications/navigation, instrument, mechanical, electrical, and avionics components, in accordance with applicable technical orders, schematics, and maintenance data.
  • Diagnose faults to the component level and perform repairs using technical data, test equipment, and approved procedures.
  • Operate ground support equipment and perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on assigned aircraft.
  • Remove and install aircraft panels and components to facilitate maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety, environmental, tool control, FOD prevention, and quality assurance programs.
  • Accurately complete all required maintenance documentation manually and electronically in accordance with USAF and company policies, including proper annotation of AFTO 781 forms and entries into IMDS.
  • Provide on-the-job training, technical mentorship, and guidance to less experienced technicians.
  • Participate in and support scheduled inspections, phased maintenance, and other maintenance program tasks.
  • Collaborate effectively across all maintenance disciplines to support the integrated introduction and sustainment of T-7 operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. An Associate's degree or equivalent technical training in aviation maintenance is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of aircraft maintenance experience with demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting and repair to the component level.
  • Proficiency with USAF maintenance data systems, particularly the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) and AFTO 781 series forms.
  • Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring personnel in aircraft maintenance tasks.
  • Ability and willingness to work rotating shiftsas required by operational tempo.
  • Working knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements and quality management systems, with a commitment to following established processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with electronics, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and circuit-level troubleshooting.
  • U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Personnel Security Clearance for Flight line / CAC issuance. Candidates possessing an active Secret clearance are strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a USAF 7-level (Craftsman) aircraft maintainer.
  • RedX qualification or significant experience with Red X maintenance discrepancy tracking and sign-off authority.
  • Experience working on aircraft development programs, flight test programs, or new aircraft introduction efforts.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships with U.S. Government and military personnel.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical and avionics systems, schematics, and complex troubleshooting techniques.
  • Previous experience in a contractor maintenance environment supporting USAF or other DoD aircraft operations.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at elevated heights, and in awkward positions around aircraft and support equipment.
  • Capable of performing duties in a shop floor and flight line environment with exposure to loud noise, aircraft fluids, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical hazards, and varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to perform both domestic and international travel as required.
