Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (L3)
We are seeking motivated, hands‑on professionals to support the launch and operation of a next‑generation, liquid‑cooled data center in Wink, TX. This is a unique opportunity to work on the ground floor of a large‑scale infrastructure build, working with advanced systems that power critical technology environments.
What You’ll Do- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on critical facility systems
- Operate and support infrastructure including electrical distribution (UPS, generators, switch gear, PDUs), cooling systems (chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units), and building monitoring systems (BMS/EPMS)
- Assist with commissioning, testing, and site readiness activities for new infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency
- Coordinate with technicians, vendors, and internal teams to execute work safely and effectively
- Track performance metrics, maintenance activity, and inventory
- Support continuous improvement efforts to optimize performance and reliability
- 1–2 years of experience in data center operations, critical facilities, electrical/mechanical systems, or a similar hands‑on technical environment
- Experience troubleshooting and working with infrastructure or hardware systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured operational procedures
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, hands‑on, onsite environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with data center or critical facility infrastructure
- Background in electrical, mechanical, or engineering‑related disciplines (degree, trade school, or military training)
- Exposure to power systems (UPS, generators, switch gear), HVAC or cooling systems, networking basics, or structured cabling
- Initial training and onboarding will take place in Dallas, TX before transitioning to Wink
- Expect a 4–6 month ramp period to gain full proficiency, depending on experience
