Location: Waller
This position is responsible for developing detailed design and specifications in 3D modeling and 2D layouts for new and existing HVAC products by using Computer Assisted Design (CAD) software. Support project and sustaining Engineers to release Engineering changes through bills of materials and drawings. May oversee the building of Engineering prototypes to understand the design changes based upon the outcome.
Communicate with manufacturing to ensure the form of design.
Position Responsibilities May include:
- Develop 3D models and 2D production drawings/layouts by using Creo or Solid Edge.
- Plan, Coordinate and check Engineering CAD design changes prior to checker/supervisor review.
- Develop and design new and existing 3D models based upon DFM (Design for Manufacturability)
- Attention to details while creating new CAD designs and working with Bill of materials.
- Create bills of material from 3D CAD models using PLM system i.e., Team Center
- Perform revising, editing, and updating changes to drawings based on revised sketches, notes, drawings, and verbal instruction.
- Work within cross functional teams.
- Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.
- Works within well-defined instructions
- Uses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks
- Work is closely supervised
Skills:
- Able to create basic 3D model and 2D Layouts by using Creo or Solid Edge
- Editing, and updating changes to drawings based on revised sketches, notes, drawings, and verbal instruction.
- Reasonable understanding of general ASME Drawing Standards
- Basic understanding of product design and engineering change process
- Able to learn and apply new technology as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as design standards, design procedures and safety rules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Coordination skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Basic computer Skills (MS office etc.)
- Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job.
0 - 2 years of Sheet metal design or equipment design and design for manufacturability
Education/Certification:
Associates degree or certificate in CAD design or Mechanical Design Engineering preferred
