The APEX Power Co. Project in Hubbard, TX, currently under Phase 1 construction, is expected to expand to 1.6 GW. It features a diverse mix of generation technologies, including Siemens SGT-800/400 simple cycle turbines, MAN/Everllence 18V51/60G gas reciprocating engines, GE LM6000/LM2500 simple cycle turbines, Pratt & Whitney FT8 simple cycle turbines, and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), enabling flexible, reliable power output.

Future expansion may include additional GE aero and large frame units (6B, 7FA/7FB/7H) in simple or combined cycle configurations, allowing the plant to efficiently meet varying energy demands while supporting data center grid reliability.

The Maintenance Manager at the APEX Power Co. Project will lead the maintenance organization through pre-commissioning and into commercial operation, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient performance of all generation and balance-of-plant equipment. This role includes establishing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs, coordinating contractors, managing budgets, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant availability, performance, and reliability. During pre-commissioning, the Maintenance Manager will focus on staffing, procedures, commissioning support, and readiness activities to ensure the plant is prepared for successful startup.

Your responsibilities specific to the Pre-Commissioning Phase include the following functions:

  • Assist the Plant Manager in recruiting, onboarding, and qualifying initial maintenance personnel to ensure a fully staffed and technically competent maintenance team.
  • Develop staffing schedules, on-call coverage frameworks, and resource allocation plans to support commissioning, first-fire, and initial operational readiness.
  • Establish initial qualification and training programs for maintenance personnel on aero-derivative CTs, frame CTs, reciprocating engines, BESS, and balance-of-plant systems.
  • Develop first-issue maintenance procedures, inspection protocols, and preventive/predictive maintenance guidelines aligned with OEM, EPC, and industry best practices.
  • Participate in system walkdowns, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), first-fire, synchronization, and performance testing to ensure equipment reliability and safe commissioning.
  • Support the development of audit-ready documentation, operational logs, and reporting templates for seamless CCC handover from EPC to Operations.
  • Establish and configure the site CMMS during the commissioning phase, developing asset structures, preventive maintenance programs, equipment records, and work order management processes to support long-term reliability and efficient maintenance execution.
  • Oversee initial commissioning and functional validation of critical systems, including DCS/HMI verification, alarm rationalization, and equipment start/stop sequences.
  • Establish initial compliance frameworks for NERC, environmental, safety, and water chemistry programs.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Engineering to ensure all maintenance procedures, logs, and parts management systems are ready for safe and reliable plant startup.

Your scope of responsibility as Maintenance Manager includes the following primary functions:

  • Oversee maintenance personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality performance of maintenance and repair work in alignment with company policies, procedures, and technical specifications.
  • Foster a strong safety culture, including maintaining records, implementing incentive programs, and ensuring compliance with the Plant Safety Manual and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement, manage, and track preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs; analyze equipment performance and failure trends to support operational reliability and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as Project Manager for maintenance projects, coordinating activities, scheduling, monitoring performance, and providing technical expertise to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Develop and manage budgets, contracts, and work scopes for internal staff and external contractors to optimize resource utilization and ensure timely project completion.
  • Provide detailed task lists, schedules, and work-order-level guidance during normal operations, planned outages, and forced outages, ensuring availability of parts, tooling, and services.
  • Maintain accurate records in the CMMS, including work orders, historical data, and maintenance schedules to support future planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and NERC coordinators to enhance maintenance planning effectiveness, ensure compliance, and complete tasks with proper documentation.
  • Ensure maintenance manuals, OEM guides, and plant records are current, and oversee warehouse and inventory management to maintain efficient material availability and utilization.
  • Lead initiatives to improve plant performance, including reliability, heat rate, and availability, while reducing…
