Mechanical Maintenance Planner
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for leading efforts to improve efficiency, quality, and safety of mechanical equipment and processes via design and/or changes to process equipment and systems. This role owns the creation, standardization, and upkeep for mechanical equipment SOPs and SWPs for the Maintenance group.
Responsibilities- Create, update, maintain and standardize SOPs and SWPs
- Plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance activities by task and priority level
- Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating all aspects of projects, including contractors, equipment manufacturers, and internal support
- Manage spare parts and alignment between the maintenance department and stock room
- Manage work orders, documentation, and assets within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Train employees on how to use the CMMS
- Coordinate plant‑wide shutdowns
- Lead and contribute to new and ongoing maintenance and plant projects
- Support troubleshooting of process equipment issues, ensuring the correct qualified individuals are involved
- Manage multiple simultaneous projects at varying sites while maintaining budgets, timing, and quality
- Support operations in developing equipment purchase/project plans for future replacements/upgrades or process capacity increases
- Participate in meetings and resolve client/engineering and management project issues, soliciting feedback from facilities and business units to improve project execution
- Ensure effective engineering and client communications through a thorough understanding of the supply chain and the impact of assigned projects, equipment, and building changes
- Participate in hazard analyses
- Develop inspection and test plans for new equipment or modifications to existing equipment
- Advocate for behavioral and process safety principles
- Study, analyze, and seek solutions to production issues related to design, operation, performance, modification, or repair of components
- Interpret various OEM technical manuals
- Perform any other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, or related experience/education
- Minimum two years of planning experience with Cap Ex projects, maintenance, planning, equipment/process design, or manufacturing
- Project management experience; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues and manage regulatory compliance modifications at a detailed level
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project
- Knowledge of various CMMS software
