Technical Application Engineer
GE Vernova Power Conversion & Storage focuses on bringing together technologies and expertise to help solve the most challenging issues in electrical systems, accelerating the global transition to a resilient and reliable network. We are looking for a technically skilled application engineer to support our Power Stability & Grid Utilities business in the SEMEA region. This role combines deep technical expertise in power stability and grid utilities services with proactive customer engagement to effectively establish and promote our cutting-edge solutions.
The application engineer will be part of the ITO (Inquiry to Order) segment to technically support the acquisition of new commercial contracts. You will also be responsible for strategy and support in all regions. As the voice of the customers (OEM, EPC, and end-users), you will work with the product management team and engineering teams to ensure that we meet customer needs by providing the best economic solutions.
You will report directly to the head of application engineers or their designee.

Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with sales during client meetings to present and promote our energy stability and grid utilities solutions.
- Review and interpret client specifications to propose our best solution based on our portfolio of structured solutions and products, as far as possible, for new entry projects and equipment services.
- Prepare clear and concise technical offers including deviations from client requirements.
- Travel to France and around the world, for short periods, to visit our clients as part of a tender or in advance, to understand and analyze their needs and present our solutions.
- Conduct technical negotiation meetings with clients.
- Establish the cost list of proposed solutions to clients with the support of key contributors such as the purchasing department and the engineering department.
- Optimize costs by challenging contributors (technically and financially) and optimizing solutions.
- Respect as much as possible the commitments at the dates of the tenders.
- Provide technical expertise and support to commercial directors and commercial operations teams in selecting, implementing, and developing competitive solutions.
- Identify technical risks and work with engineering to mitigate risks within GE procedures.
- Stay proactively informed of market trends and requirements and act as the “voice of the customer” to strategically influence GE’s product/system development needs.
Profile Sought:
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering/power engineering/power electronics (engineering school or equivalent), experience of at least 5 to 10 years in the field of electrical/power electronics
- Strong knowledge of high voltage grid stabilization applications for TSO/DSO (synchronous compensator type systems, STATCOM or hybrid BESS-based).
