Job Summary
PROJECT MANAGER I – ENGINEERING at Mont Belvieu, TX. Responsible for planning, monitoring, and managing engineering projects from initiation to completion with a focus on small capital and growth projects. Supports plant and process facility projects, pipeline work, construction, operations and maintenance, measurement and control facilities, gas treating and compressor facilities, product storage, pumping, loading and handling facilities, and related processing equipment and control systems.
Coordinates with internal engineering, operations, construction, project controls, supply chain, leadership teams, external vendors, contractors, customers, and other stakeholders to deliver safe, reliable, and cost‑effective outcomes.
- Lead project planning and execution, including scoping, scheduling, budgeting, and risk analysis.
- Manage project activities for plant and process facility design, pipeline design, construction, operation, and maintenance projects.
- Prepare scope definition documents, change management procedures, and formal management of change (MOC) processes.
- Develop cost plans, estimates, budgeting, and cost control reports in accordance with prior project baselines.
- Create and maintain project schedules, validate contractor re‑baselined schedules, and perform critical path analysis.
- Coordinate procurement, contract strategies, and subcontract management to support project deliverables.
- Lead interface and stakeholder management, develop stakeholder plans, and ensure effective communication throughout the organization.
- Provide technical and engineering assistance to other departments, regulatory agencies, and external partners.
- Manage project team performance, set objectives, and track progress against targets.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Minimum five years of engineering, operations, and/or project management experience.
- Experience with processing facilities, pipeline design, and project lifecycle management.
- Strong knowledge of scoping, estimating, scheduling, contracting, commissioning, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with project management productivity tools and software (e.g., Microsoft applications; Procore preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence and align cross‑functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Sedentary work with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds, walking, and standing.
- Must be able to perform light physical tasks, use manual dexterity, and operate computer monitors.
