Position: Entry-level Structural Engineer (EIT)

Overview

Pierce Engineering is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Structural Engineer (EIT) to join our growing structural engineering practice. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with experienced professional engineers on a wide variety of structural projects. These include commercial, industrial, municipal, institutional, and civil engineering assignments.

Responsibilities
  • Perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and foundation systems.
  • Prepare engineering calculations and technical reports.
  • Develop construction drawings and details using industry-standard software.
  • Assist with structural design for new construction, assessments, investigations, and rehabilitation projects.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, owners, and other design professionals.
  • Conduct occasional site visits and field observations.
  • Support project managers in delivering high-quality engineering services on schedule and within budget.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural engineering emphasis from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination prior to beginning employment.
  • Eligible for Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification in Texas.
  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Internship or co-op experience in structural consulting.
  • Experience with structural analysis and design software such as RISA-3D or similar programs.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or Micro Station.
