Overview

The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation, administration, training and enforcement of the plant-wide safety, health, and environmental programs. They will stay current on EHS developments through courses and by maintaining contact with other EHS professionals and regulatory agencies, while promoting personal development and awareness of EHS issues among all plant personnel. Maintain a consistent presence out in the plant to heighten vigilance and awareness with plant activities.

Ensure effective and organized record-keeping of all personnel training files; prepare and submit MSHA reports; ensure contractor compliance with USS requirements; prepare and submit state regulatory reports; ensure compliance with all relevant permit parameters and requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Implement, administer, train and enforce plant-wide safety, health, and environmental programs.
  • Stay abreast of new EHS developments by attending courses and maintaining contact with other EHS professionals and regulatory agencies.
  • Promote personal development and awareness of EHS issues and concerns in all plant personnel.
  • Maintain a consistent presence in the plant to achieve heightened vigilance and awareness of plant activities.
  • Maintain organized records of all personnel training files and manage reporting (MSHA, state regulatory reports) and permit compliance.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with USS requirements and related EHS obligations.
  • Prepare and submit state regulatory reports and other required permit parameters and requirements.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations as needed.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and interact with all levels of the plant and corporate organizations.
  • Willingness to travel; flexible work schedule and ability to respond to emergencies.
  • Experience with EHS programs, record-keeping, and regulatory reporting.
