Headquartered in Downtown Houston, the Golden Pass LNG organization expects to double in size over the next several years as we complete the project, commence natural gas trading activities, and ramp up towards full LNG production. Once full operations commence, Golden Pass LNG will become the second largest consumer of natural gas in the US and produce more than 200 cargos of LNG per annum.
Job Summary / Purpose The Measurement & Analyzer Technician will be responsible for conducting complex measurement and analyzer maintenance activities at Golden Pass LNG (GPLNG) plant, safely and competently without supervision. Prioritize measurement and analyzer maintenance work through Risk-based Work selection to ensure reliable monitoring and reporting resulting in LNG product quality and accurate gas and LNG volume reporting. Apply best-in-class safe work practices to measurement and analyzer maintenance activities including consideration of SIMOPS;
ensure "nobody gets hurt". Provide on-the-job training for less experienced measurement and analyzer maintenance technicians such that the measurement and analyzer maintenance team performance is continually improved. Interface with Plant and Pipeline Operations, other Maintenance disciplines, Engineering and Safety, Health and Environment to ensure best-in-class LNG Plant product quality and reporting.
Essential Duties / Functions
- Perform scheduled measurement device calibrations to ensure gas and LNG volumes are accurately measured, displayed, and reported
- Maintain analyzers to specification, ensuring gas quality and LNG composition analyses are accurate, reliable, and properly displayed
- Provide technical direction during daily work by ensuring calibration methods, analyzer maintenance steps, and measurement practices meet company expectations
- Reviews work packs in advance (i.e., at least 12–24 hrs.) develops required PSMS discussions and permits for Supervisor review
2. Reliability & Optimization
- Provide input to planning using risk-based work selection to prioritize measurement calibration and analyzer maintenance tasks across the LNG plant and GP Pipeline
- Contribute to short- and long-term planning for measurement and analyzer maintenance activities, including schedules, regulatory cycles, and equipment reliability needs
- Ensure that all volume measurement, testing, and analytical activities meet regulatory requirements and are completed within required time frames
- Troubleshoot measurement and analyzer issues affecting volume reporting or product quality, taking proactive steps to prevent recurrence or reporting inaccuracies
- Report measurement and analyzer bad-actors to the Maintenance Reliability Team for tracking and long-term reliability improvement
3. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure adherence to the Golden Pass Management System (GPMS) for both safety and measurement integrity
- Apply appropriate process safety risk assessments to all measurement and analyzer work, including isolation, LOTO, purging, gas testing, and system readiness checks
- Verify that plant and pipeline conditions are safe, isolated, and tested before any calibration or analyzer maintenance begins
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation in the Centralized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including progress, work order status, calibration results, and follow-up actions
4. Mentorship & Training
- Provide expert input during safety toolbox meetings for the measurement/analyzer team, reinforcing safe work practices, regulatory compliance, and measurement integrity principles
- Coach technicians in proper calibration techniques, analyzer troubleshooting, and accurate reporting methods
5. Innovation & Technology
- Use modern available diagnostic tools, calibration equipment, analyzer interfaces, and digital measurement systems to ensure accuracy and repeatability of gas and LNG measurement
- Support the adoption of improved maintenance strategies, updated calibration technologies, and digital workflows within the CMMS to enhance long-term measurement quality
Minimum Requirements
- High school Diploma/GED and/or technical college diploma required
Minimum experience required of the position
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a measurement and/or analyzer technician in a large process plant
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
- In-depth knowledge of accurate flow and volume measurement and reporting systems
- Knowledge of analyzer maintenance practice
