This role supports subsurface evaluation and reservoir characterization through the development of integrated 3D geological models. The successful candidate will transform complex subsurface datasets into high-quality static geological models using industry-leading geoscience software, including Schlumberger Petrel. The position involves collaborating with geologists, engineers, analysts, and technical leaders to support asset evaluation, volumetric analysis, and strategic resource development.

Responsibilities
  • Compile, organize, validate, and integrate subsurface datasets into Petrel projects, including well data, directional surveys, formation tops, fault interpretations, mudlogs, and geological inputs.
  • Develop and maintain integrated 3D static geological models across multiple acreage areas using Petrel or comparable subsurface modeling platforms.
  • Build geological frameworks and rock property models that accurately represent reservoir architecture, strati graphic relationships, structural interpretation, and reservoir heterogeneity.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of geological data, model inputs, and final model outputs.
  • Integrate well control data, geological interpretations, and subsurface datasets into project-ready models supporting technical evaluations.
  • Prepare geological model deliverables used for volumetric calculations, reservoir characterization, and development planning.
  • Document modeling assumptions, workflows, data sources, methodologies, and limitations to support repeatability and future updates.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, reservoir engineers, data analysts, and natural resources professionals.
  • Support ongoing improvements to subsurface workflows, data management practices, and technical evaluation processes.
  • Perform additional technical duties as needed to support subsurface analysis and asset evaluation initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geoscience, Geological Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with Petrel or comparable geological interpretation and modeling software.
  • Understanding of subsurface data integration, strati graphic interpretation, structural interpretation, and reservoir characterization concepts.
  • Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret large volumes of geological and well-related datasets.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to validate technical data and produce accurate geological models.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant professional experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing static geological models for conventional or unconventional reservoirs.
  • Familiarity with reservoir modeling workflows, volumetric calculations, and subsurface evaluation processes.
  • Knowledge of well data management, formation tops, directional surveys, mudlog interpretation, and fault modeling.
  • Experience supporting reserves evaluation, asset development planning, or technical subsurface studies.
  • Familiarity with Permian Basin geology and stratigraphy is a plus.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary energy teams and technical stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of geological modeling workflows and subsurface interpretation practices.
  • Proficiency with Petrel geologic modeling tools and 3D reservoir modeling concepts.
  • Ability to integrate multiple subsurface data sources into cohesive geological frameworks.
  • Knowledge of reservoir heterogeneity, rock property modeling, and geological uncertainty.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify data inconsistencies and improve model quality.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple technical deliverables.
Work Environment

This position is performed in a professional office environment with hybrid flexibility. The role requires regular computer-based work using specialized geological software and may occasionally require evening or weekend hours to support business needs. We are committed to building a collaborative environment where technical expertise, innovation, and continuous improvement are valued.
