Internship Opportunity in Converter Cooling
Within the Power Electronics department of the Medium Voltage Power Converter projects within the GE Power Conversion division, the intern will join the "Converter Cooling" team with the following main responsibilities:
- Sizing cooling systems using hydraulic and thermal calculations.
- Justifying the choice of cooling system components (pumps, sensors, heat exchangers, expansion vessels, etc.).
- Defining and monitoring the necessary qualification and characterization plans.
- Identifying dual sourcing for critical cooling system components.
Skills developed during the internship:
Product development, from the definition phase to commissioning; writing specifications and test plans; hydraulic, mechanical, thermal, and electrical expertise; supplier management; and a "systems" perspective on a product.
