Position OverviewThe Concrete Engineer is a key member of Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE). The primary responsibility is to provide support to construction operations, perform analysis, and design for Kiewit projects, with a direct impact on other teams within the engineering district. Projects may involve the Concrete Engineer at any stage of the lifecycle, from proposal development to construction oversight, including task force participation, design reviews, concrete mix design, testing procedures, thermal control plans, durability and service life engineering, and construction operations.
LocationThis position is based out of our Westlake, TX office.
Responsibilities- Assist the Chief Concrete Engineer in providing and managing concrete technical solutions.
- Support pre-bid evaluation, design constructability reviews, technical risk assessments, and construction operations work planning.
- Improve concrete quality and reduce issues through proactive engagement with jobsite personnel.
- Collaborate in developing concrete-related design requirements and specifications for construction.
- Interpret concrete material properties and construction quality results, including process control data.
- Serve as field engineer during construction when needs arise.
- Apply client-specific design methodologies, specifications, and standards.
- Develop and maintain internal and external client relationships and construction partners.
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering;
Master’s degree with emphasis in concrete or related engineering preferred. - Minimum of 7 years of experience directly applicable to concrete (mix design, thermal control, service life engineering, forensic analysis, troubleshooting, testing procedures, codes, and ACI manual of concrete practice).
- Active US Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
