Senior Project Engineer – Instrumentation & Controls

Location: Beaumont, TX (30%) / Sabine Pass, TX (70%)
Pay: $75.00 - $90.00/hr doe
Duration: 24-Month Contract with Possible Extension
Schedule: M-F, 7;00am - 4:00pm, 40 hours/week

Join a Major LNG Operating Facility on the Texas Gulf Coast

Cenergy International Services is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer – Instrumentation & Controls to support capital and maintenance projects at a large-scale LNG facility.

This position is ideal for a Project Engineer with strong experience in operating facilities who can successfully manage multiple Instrumentation & Controls projects from scope development through commissioning and startup. The successful candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and field execution experience within LNG, petrochemical, refining, chemical processing, or oil & gas environments.

What You'll Do
  • Manage multiple Instrumentation & Controls projects simultaneously.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and funding requests.
  • Lead project execution from concept through startup and closeout.
  • Coordinate engineering, operations, maintenance, construction, and contractor activities.
  • Prepare bid packages, scopes of work, technical specifications, and project documentation.
  • Support procurement activities and vendor coordination.
  • Manage project costs, schedules, change management, and contractor performance.
  • Coordinate RFIs, drawing reviews, document revisions, and engineering changes.
  • Support maintenance planning and facility outage scheduling activities.
  • Participate in commissioning, startup, loop checks, functional testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure modifications are properly documented and turned over to Operations.
  • Promote safe work practices and participate in HSE reviews, audits, and field observations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
  • 12+ years of engineering and project engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting projects in LNG, petrochemical, refining, chemical processing, or oil & gas facilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and change management.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and contractor management processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project leadership skills.

  • Commissioning and startup experience

  • Experience coordinating loop checks and site acceptance testing
  • Brownfield project experience within operating facilities
  • Contractor oversight and construction management experience
  • Knowledge of petrochemical safety work management systems
