The Surveyor Field Crew role is a full-time, on-site position based in Edcouch, TX. This role involves assisting with and performing field surveys, including boundary, topographic, construction staking, and right of way surveys. Daily tasks include setting up and operating surveying instruments, collecting precise field data, establishing control points, and recording measurements and site conditions. The Surveyor Field Crew member supports drone-based mapping and 3D scanning activities as needed, follows safety protocols, and ensures proper care and maintenance of equipment and vehicles.

Collaboration with crew leaders, office staff, and project managers is essential to ensure accurate data collection, timely project completion, and high-quality deliverables.

• Ability to operate and assist with surveying instruments and equipment (total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, levels, data collectors).
• Skills in collecting, recording, and verifying field measurements, notes, and site observations with strong attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of land surveying principles related to boundary, topographic, construction, and right of way surveys.
• Capability to work safely outdoors in varying weather and terrain, including lifting, carrying, and setting survey markers and equipment.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with crew members, supervisors, and office staff.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; clean driving record preferred.
• Comfort with using handheld devices, data collection software, and basic computer applications; familiarity with CAD or GIS is a plus.
• Willingness to learn drone operations, 3D scanning workflows, and other emerging survey technologies; FAA remote pilot certification is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical coursework or certification in surveying, geomatics, or a related field is beneficial.
• Previous field surveying or construction layout experience is preferred but not required for motivated entry-level candidates
