Cost Engineer provides expert engineering and cost-related support for worldwide projects and operations. The role evaluates technical solutions, project costs, economic feasibility, and value-engineering alternatives while working with project, construction, maintenance, operations, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Role SummaryOffshore Cost Engineer
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert technical and cost guidance to engineering, construction, maintenance, and operations personnel.
- Represent the client in discussions with vendors and manufacturers.
- Conduct cost studies, value-engineering reviews, and economic evaluations of technical alternatives.
- Identify potential operational issues and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Develop studies, estimates, reports, proposals, and project documentation.
- Plan, schedule, and provide direction for complex engineering and cost-related assignments.
- Analyze project scope, existing facilities, economic impact, risks, and applicable requirements.
- Develop project approaches, processes, equipment recommendations, and technical proposals.
- Coordinate project elements, monitor progress and schedules, and initiate corrective actions when required.
- Minimum 12 years of applicable engineering experience, including at least 5 years in responsible charge of technical work.
- Demonstrated expertise in engineering, cost analysis, project economics, and value engineering.
- Strong knowledge of engineering practices, economic principles, calculations, design requirements, codes, standards, and specifications.
- Industry experience with organizations/standards such as ASME, ASTM, API, or AIChE preferred.
A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $100.00 - $130.00 per hour. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
