The Portfolio Analyst will support loan officers in managing a portfolio of loans (primarily commercial loans). This role involves contacting customers to obtain financial and collateral documents, reviewing/analyzing financial statements and completing required forms and reports. The Portfolio Analyst collaborates with Loan Officers, the Credit Department, and Loan Operations to ensure effective management and risk evaluation of their assigned loan portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage ticklers, exceptions and covenants within assigned loan portfolio.
- Manage maturing loans to ensure continued compliance with lending criteria and make recommendations for renewals.
- Review and analyze the credit worthiness and trends of individuals, companies and/or organizations via financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, and other relevant documentation.
- Complete and submit forms including loans modifications, risk rating forms and classified asset reports.
- Review and submit collateral reports such as borrowing bases and draws.
- Assist in collection efforts and collaborate with outside council of the Bank when necessary.
- Assist with projects and exams as assigned.
- Attend/complete assigned training.
- Comply with and enforce all Bank policies/procedures and regulatory requirements/laws.
- Maintain Company and customer confidentiality.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related Business field.
- A minimum of 5 years of applicable experience in Commercial Lending/Credit may be substituted for the above educational requirement.
- Effective written and verbal interpersonal skills and ability to work well with customers and internal teams.
- Maintains professional demeanor at all times.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to work independently and possess excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Proficient in financial and office software (Excel, financial modeling tools, etc.).
- Strong understanding of financial market conditions.
