Position:
Part Time Teller – Eustace, TX, US
Perform numerous functions including processing deposits, withdrawals, posting to general ledger accounts, cashing negotiable items, processing loan payments, savings bonds, and cashier’s checks while promoting the bank’s products and services and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities- Assumes responsibility for the efficient, effective, and accurate performance of teller functions.
- Represents the bank in a courteous and professional manner.
- Receives and processes deposits and loan payments.
- Cashes checks and other negotiable instruments for clients.
- Examines documents for endorsements and negotiability.
- Processes transfers between accounts.
- Sells traveler’s checks, official checks, and money orders.
- Processes credit card cash advances.
- Verifies and balances cash daily.
- Detects and resolves discrepancies promptly.
- Offers other bank products to meet customer needs and strengthen relationships.
- Maintains proof error rates below one within a 30‑day period.
- Follows teller procedures consistently and adheres to compliance requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Establishes and maintains effective, professional business relations with clients.
- Ensures prompt resolution of client requests and inquiries.
- Operates online teller terminal and maintains privacy of customer information.
- Maintains the bank’s quality reputation.
- Assists area personnel and provides training or orientation as needed.
- Communicates area activities and concerns to supervisors.
- Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly.
- Attends meetings and training classes, including weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays.
- Performs night drop functions and related clerical duties as assigned.
- Ensures work areas are clean, secure, and well maintained.
- Cross‑sells bank products and services.
- Teller functions performed efficiently, effectively, and accurately per established policies.
- Cash balanced and discrepancies resolved promptly; balancing record meets standards.
- Business relationships with clients remain positive, with problems resolved courteously.
- Strong working relationships with area personnel and management; assistance provided as needed.
- Required reports and records are accurate, complete, and timely.
- Consistently seeks opportunities to strengthen client relationships and sell bank products.
- Maintains and conveys the bank’s professional reputation.
- Education:
High school graduate or equivalent. - Knowledge:
Understanding of bank operations preferred. - Experience:
At least one year of related cash handling experience; previous teller experience preferred. - Skills and Abilities:
Good communication, professional appearance, dress, and attitude; good typing and math skills; ability to operate related computer applications and business equipment. - Proficiencies:
Mentor Program;
All required training and webinars in 90‑day plan; GS3 Program;
Precision;
Integrated Teller – Advanced functions; CTR/MIL understanding; IVIEW;
Product Knowledge; SCO; ATM Balancing; WITS/Wires;
Risk Management Skill;
Dual Control.
- Talking:
Frequent clear communication of detailed instructions. - Hearing:
Ability to hear average conversations. - Finger dexterity:
Small movements for typing, picking up small objects. - Repetitive motion:
Frequent wrist, hand, finger use. - Visual abilities:
Average visual acuity for inspecting documents and operating machinery. - Physical strength:
Sedentary work; can exert up to 10 lbs. occasionally. - Reasoning ability:
Apply common sense to simple instructions and problems. - Mathematics ability:
Perform basic math, use decimals, compute ratios and percentages, interpret graphs. - Language ability:
Use vocabulary 5,000‑6,000 words; read slowly; define unfamiliar words; write complex sentences with proper punctuation; communicate in complex sentences with good vocabulary.
Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 10:30 AM - 4:30 PM. Friday: 11:00 AM - 5:30 PM.
