A growing, multi-entity SME in the North West is looking to appoint a hands‑on Assistant Accountant to join its expanding finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership and wants to play a key role in keeping a finance function running smoothly within a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
The RoleYou’ll take responsibility for day‑to‑day finance operations across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, control, and a smooth month‑end process. This is a varied position offering strong exposure and the chance to contribute to process improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ownership of purchase and sales ledger processes
- Bank postings and reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate and well‑organised ledgers
- Posting journals (accruals, prepayments, payroll)
- Supporting month‑end close
- Managing intercompany balances and reconciliations
- Supporting system and process improvements
- Experience in an Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant / Bookkeeping role
- Comfortable working in an SME or multi-entity environment
- Strong Excel skills and good systems knowledge
- Experience with cloud accounting software (e.g. Xero or Sage) is beneficial
- Highly organised, proactive, and detail‑focused
- Comfortable managing routine, high‑volume workloads with accuracy
- Broad exposure across a growing business
