AXA XL Re North America writes reinsurance for a variety of property and casualty lines in the US and Canada. The Pricing & Analytics team is looking for a fast learner to support the Property team while pursuing the ACAS designation. The team performs treaty account pricing, tool development, and line‑of‑business research. The position focuses on property products (treaty and facultative) with opportunities in other lines of business.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Provide pricing support to the underwriting team:
- Evaluate historical and prospective profitability of property reinsurance treaties using experience and exposure pricing techniques, considering all possible perils, including natural catastrophes.
- Assess various reinsurance structures and terms to achieve minimum profitability targets.
- Follow global pricing guidelines to ensure consistency.
- Present and explain pricing indications to peer reviewers, underwriters and senior management.
- Enhance AXA XL’s technical pricing and portfolio management capabilities:
- Use appropriate data sources to monitor and update industry benchmarks for rate change, trends, and loss development factors.
- Collaborate with other actuaries to improve models and fine‑tune assumptions and methodologies.
- Contribute to implementation and testing efforts for reinsurance segment pricing models.
- Bachelor’s Degree or better in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related STEM field.
- Taking actuarial exams with intent to qualify in the Casualty Actuarial Society.
- Intermediate P&C insurance or reinsurance experience preferred but not required.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and VBA; coding in Python preferred; basic understanding of R desirable.
- Ability to acquire technical knowledge and adapt quickly to new environments.
- Excellent communication skills to build effective working relationships with underwriters and actuaries.
- Ability to multi‑task and progress on several assignments simultaneously.
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.

Applicants for this role must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD $61,100 – $101,500. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience and location and aims for market alignment and internal equity.
