We are looking for a Senior Relationship Manager to join our Capital Formation Team. The team specializes in structuring and sourcing tax credits to support funding for high‑impact projects and operating businesses nationwide. The NMTC team has closed billions of dollars of NMTC transactions for a wide range of industries, providing jobs or essential services in underserved communities. As a client‑facing role, you will manage multiple clients, develop new business, and lead projects through the NMTC financing process.

Specific

Responsibilities Include
  • Pursue leads for new projects and successfully close financing or new business opportunities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with NMTC financing parties including community development entities, investors, and lenders
  • Lead the marketing of NMTC projects to community development entities and investors
  • Project manage, educating potential borrowers on NMTC timelines, success strategies, processes, and structures
  • Assist clients with financing structures to support NMTC financings
  • Prepare preliminary financial structures and models
  • Prepare executive‑summary pitchbooks for projects to source NMTC capital
  • Secure and negotiate term sheets from all parties
  • Oversee gathering, organizing, and analyzing due diligence
  • Oversee closing and documentation of NMTC financing
  • Represent Baker Tilly and the NMTC team internally and externally through outreach, meetings, events, and client interactions
  • Assist with growing the NMTC financing practice
  • Supervise and develop other team members
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4‑year degree
  • 8 years professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of commercial mid‑market or CRE lending, structured finance, and/or NMTC or subsidy‑related accounting
  • Experience with NMTCs or community development finance
  • Willingness to travel 20–30% of the time
  • Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project‑management, and communication skills
  • Exceptional client service and commitment to continuous learning
  • Understanding of financials, operating performance, proformas, and budgets
  • Remote work applicable on a limited or seasonal basis; willingness to work in Baker Tilly offices as needed
  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting, Finance or real estate preferred

Compensation

The U.S. National pay rate range for this position is $179,850–$340,970. The California pay rate range is $128,000–$340,970.
