Bowie-Cass Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BCEC) is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team and help guide the financial strength and long-term stability of the Cooperative.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in finance and accounting, preferably within the electric cooperative or utility industry, along with strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills. The CFO will provide financial leadership and direction that supports BCEC’s mission to safely provide our members with electric service at the lowest possible cost, consistent with sound business practices.

Position SummaryThe CFO is responsible for leading the Cooperative’s financial and accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, purchasing, and compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
As a key member of the leadership team, the CFO will play an important role in long-term financial planning, risk management, and the development of financial strategies that support the Cooperative’s goals. This position will work closely with the General Manager and Board of Directors to provide financial insight and guidance for sound decision-making. The CFO will also provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to direct reports and will report directly to the General Manager.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 10+ years of professional experience in finance and accounting
- At least five (5) years of supervisory or management experience
- CPA certification
- Previous electric cooperative or electric utility experience
Bowie-Cass Electric Cooperative (BCEC) was formed in October 1937 with 678 members. Today, the Cooperative serves more than 40,00 meters and 27,000 members across a 4,500-square-mile service territory in Bowie, Cass, Titus, Morris, Red River, and Franklin counties.
