U.S. Border Patrol determines duty assignments at the time of offer based on operational needs, which may or may not align with candidates' first‑choice preferences. Relocation may be required. • Base Salary: GL-9/GS-11, $63,148 – $120,145 per year.
• Locality Pay:
  Varies by duty location.
• Overtime Pay:
  Up to 25%.
• Additional 25% of base pay may be available to a fully trained BPA per the BPA Pay Reform Act of 2014.
• Career ladder:
  Promotion to next higher grade (GL‑9 → GS‑11 → GS‑12) after 52 weeks in the current grade without re‑applying.
• Benefits:
  Health and insurance plans, generous annual and sick leave program, participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, and other federal employment benefits.

• Newly appointed Border Patrol Agents will be offered up to a $20,000 incentive.
• First $10,000 paid upon successful completion of the Border Patrol Academy.
• Remaining $10,000 awarded for accepting a prioritized location.
