Community Supervision Officer

Responsibilities

• Monitoring probationers’ compliance with court orders through office and field contacts to ensure community safety
• Assisting probationers in obtaining services to encourage pro-social and law-abiding behavior
• Conducting risk/needs assessments and developing individualized case plans
• Reporting probation violations to the appropriate authorities in a timely manner

Applicants must possess at a minimum:

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, in one of the following fields:
  Criminal Justice, Criminology, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Rehabilitative Studies, or a related field
• Completion of at least one year of graduate study in one of the fields listed above

• Must not be employed as a peace officer or serve as a law enforcement volunteer
• Must not currently be on probation, parole, or serving a sentence for any criminal offense

• Drug and alcohol screening
• Complete criminal background check
• Driving record check
