The City of Azle is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Full Time Deputy Court Clerk.
- Salary Range for this position is $48,471 - $50,235 :
Starting wage DOQ

Summary Of Classification
Under general supervision of the Municipal Court Administrator, maintains all court records; assists in the preparation of case files for scheduling court cases for courtroom and administrative dockets, trials and hearing. Assist in utility billing as required.

Job Duties
- Prepare case documents, notices, letter and schedules cases for trial, hearing and appeals.
- Perform administrative duties for court, which includes processing paperwork, scanning files in Laser Fiche, printing and notarizing required documents, accurate data entry of case information, retrieving accident and incident reports and updating case status or various schedules.
- Answer external inquiries from attorneys and witnesses and internal inquiries from Police, Fire, and Code Enforcement.
- Create and print jackets as needed; process payments and maintains trial, or Attorney Plea Docket; researches and retrieves records stored in archives. Must be bondable.
- Assist the Judge and Prosecutor as needed. Make copies of court dockets; serve as backup to Court Administrator and Utility Billing when needed. Perform all other job duties as assigned.
- To effectively perform this job, regular attendance is required.
Sits, stands and converses for extended periods while assisting a constant stream of customers. Climbs ladders; lifts and retrieves boxes weighing up to 30 pounds. Works well under pressure; ability to follow directions and assist other employees as needed.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Familiarity with/ability to learn Municipal Court policies and procedures
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to type 40 wpm and must be able to use 10-key calculator by touch
Experience working with personal computers and Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel. Ability to speak Spanish preferred but not required.
Minimum Education, Experience and Certification – High school diploma or equivalent is required. Two years general business and clerical experience involving public contact, preferably with at least one year of cashier/teller experience Municipal court experience is preferred, including a working knowledge of INCODE Court Software.
This position requires the ability to obtain Level 1 Court Clerk certification within one year of employment.
